Texas History students in Mr. Nugent and Robertson's classes participated in a project that used the web-based application SKYPE. They conducted a mock trial in which two separate classrooms were able to see and hear each other via document cameras and microphones.

Student Response System
Students in Mr. Goins' WOW class used TurningPoint Anywhere as a tool in reviewing concepts in preparation for the STARR test. TurningPoint Anywhere is a student response system that allows teachers to get immediate feedback from students using any existing presentation or classroom material. Jan. 2012
Students Create Anti-Bullying Cosmic Strips
Coach Kaiser’s Discovery class created anti-bullying cosmic strips using an online comic series produced with Bitstrips comic-making tools. Students were able to design their personal avatars which appeared in their cosmic strips. These comic-based activities gave the students a creative and engaging way to share their strategies for speaking up and putting a stop to bullying. Jan. 2012
iMovie
Students in Ms. Folarin science classes showed their understanding of force and motion by creating movies using iMovie. iMovie is a video editing software application which allows Mac, iPod Touch 4th generation, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and iPad 2 users to edit their own movies. Dec. 2011
Vernier LabQuest
Mr. Cacciatore science classes conducted an experiment that simulated how the tilt of the globe influenced seasons. Data was collected using the Vernier LabQuest a data-collection technology,. LabQuest works as a stand-alone device or as a computer interface. It includes built-in software for data collection, graphing, and analysis. Dec. 2011
Poll Everywhere
Students in Mrs. Sides Accelerated Math Class participated in Poll Everywhere. Poll Everywhere is an audience response system, which uses mobile devices, twitter, and the web. Students were able to bring their electronic devices and respond to questions that are posted. The responses are displayed in real-time on charts in PowerPoint. Nov. 2011
Moodle
Hopewell students are using Moodle. What is Moodle? Round Rock ISD Learning Management System (LMS), also known as "Moodle". The purpose of the LMS is to provide teachers and students with Web-Enhanced instructional capabilities. This means that regularly scheduled (synchronous) classes are supplemented by anytime-anywhere (asynchronous) online tools. Moodle is a versatile tool that allows students and teachers to work collaboratively online. It lets students work at their own pace, and can be used to build a stand-alone course or to supplement classroom work. It’s whatever you want it to be!
After reading a book from the Texas Lone Star Reading list, students use Moodle to write a reflection of the book. There are twenty books students can choose from once they log on to Moodle. Their response is immediately emailed to the librarian. The librarian then creates a star with the students' name and book title to be displayed in the library. After completing five books, students will receive an invite to an end-of-year party. Nov. 2011

Students in Mr. Kline’s 6th Grade Math classes are using Mimio. Mimio Interactive transforms any whiteboard, or projection surface, into an interactive teaching tool. The students are engaged in playing the Millionaire game which reinforce the concepts covered on fractions and decimals. Oct. 2011

Google Earth
Mrs. London’s 6th grade World History classes went on an interactive field trip using Google Earth. The students were able to visit various locations on the earth while learning how to read a map using latitude and longitude lines. Google Earth displays satellite images of varying resolution of the Earth's surface, allowing users to see things like cities and houses. 9/2011
